Changing Your Email Password To Improve Security

In an ongoing effort to help improve your eVetsites experience, we are asking all of our clients using our mail system to please strengthen and change your email passwords. A weak password opens up your account and personal information to hackers which can open the doors for much larger consequences.

If your account is compromised due to an easy password, hackers can use your email to send out junk mail. This in turn can lead to networks (for example, AOL, Yahoo, and Gmail) refusing to accept email from users on the eVetsites network. This affects everyone on the network, and in turn, can affect your business.

To change your email password, please take the following steps!

Log into your website,  click on Admin Home, then click the Mail icon and then click on the email account name in the left hand corner.  (In this case "Juan")

On this next screen, you'll see the password you currently have. To change the password, click on "Change this password".
Your password should be at least six characters long, include numerals, upper and lower case letters and special characters.

Clicking on your password will tell you if it is weak. In this case, the six character minimum is met, but there are no special characters.

This medium ranking came about because the password has numbers and letters, at least six characters, and a special character, but is missing a combination of upper and lower case letters.

This password has all the requirements for a strong password, at least six characters in length, includes numerals, upper and lower case letters and special characters.
Strong passwords are better and much more complicated for spammers and hackers to access.

You should opt for a Strong password to avoid letting anyone into your email account who could do damage.

Once you have chosen a new password and noted it, click on "save the new password" and you should be set.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or comments, let us know. We are here to help!
