When you sign up with eVetsites, our system generates a website for your practice chock full of content, and a framework for you to build upon and customize to your individual needs.
Anytime during your trial period you can contact us to choose a domain name that is unique to your practice or transfer a domain name if you already have one. Today's tip will help you pick the best domain name for your practice!

Get a domain name that matches

If your practice is "Midtown Veterinary Clinic " see if  "MidtownVeterinaryClinic.com" is available. If not, you can shorten veterinary to vet or vets if there is more than one doctor at the practice.
Getting a domain name that matches your practice name helps make it easy for clients to find your site.

Get a short domain name

Most people will not remember a domain name if it is too long. A short domain name is also easier for your visitors to spell.
Using a shorter name means you avoid microscopic font sizes on business cards, brochures and other printed materials.

Pick a Creative Domain Name

If your practice's domain name isn't available because you have a popular practice name, use a creative domain name to stand out from the pack. One way to do this is to add the name of your location to your name, but if your name is "Downtown Veterinary Clinic" add the name to the end "downtownveterinaryclinictucson.com or even better downtownvetclinictucson.com. Abbreviations will work great as long as they are easy to understand.
"dwntwnvtclinc.com" for example would not work!

Get a domain name with keywords

Increase the number of visitors by choosing a domain name that consists of one or two of your important keywords. Since most practices have the name vet or pet clinic or animal clinic in the practice name, this shouldn't be too difficult to do. If it isn't possible, it's not a detriment, you can always improve your Search Engine Optimization using our tips and our staff's help!

As always, if you have any questions or comments, we are here to help!
